About Christine Fryatt, RN, FMP-BC

Looking for a health writer who gets the clinical details right without sacrificing readability?

With 20+ years as a working RN and board-certified functional medicine practitioner, I bring clinical accuracy, real-world healthcare experience, and a clear writing style to every project. That means fewer revisions, content your legal team won’t flag, and writing your readers will actually trust.

I’m a registered nurse and board-certified functional medicine practitioner with more than two decades of experience spanning clinical practice, population health, behavioral health, case management, and healthcare operations leadership.

After building and leading clinical programs at national health organizations — including designing Medicare care management programs, training 1,000+ healthcare staff, and writing clinical guidelines and policies at scale — I turned my focus to health education and freelance writing.

I write for health brands, digital health platforms, and wellness publishers on topics including chronic disease, functional and integrative medicine, gut health, nervous system regulation, women’s health, mental health, and navigating the healthcare system. My work bridges the gap between evidence-based clinical knowledge and the practical, relatable guidance that actually helps people make changes.

  • ADN – Waukesha County Technical College

The human behind the work

I came to this work the long way around — through 20+ years of nursing, a homesteading chapter, caregiving, and my own journey rebuilding my health naturally after burnout. That path shaped everything about how I write: practically, honestly, and without talking down to the reader.

My background includes yoga, somatics, breathwork, and mind-body practice alongside the clinical and operational work — which means I understand both the physiology and the lived experience of trying to actually change your health when life is full and complicated.

I believe the best health content meets people where they are — not where we wish they were. If something is confusing, oversimplified, or missing the human element, readers feel it. I write the kind of content I wished existed when I was the one searching for answers.

Outside of work I’m grounded by the outdoors, slow living, and time with my family, cats, dog, chickens, and horse. These rhythms keep me connected to what matters most — presence, simplicity, and listening to what the body is actually saying.

If you’re an editor or brand looking for a credentialed clinical writer who can make complex health topics genuinely readable — you’re in the right place.

If you’re a reader looking for grounded, honest health information that respects your intelligence — you’re also in the right place.

With love, Christine
